My son Wyatt has been working his tail off to get our first camper remodel ready by spring. Once he got the walls, ceiling + cabinets painted white - updated lights - and got the carpet out of there, it was my job to make it cozy. The links to some of the products are below. My original inspiration was a different oil painting. But once it all came together this one was perfect for above the window. More photographs along with before photos are down if you keep scrolling. Rust -colored Linen Comforter is from Target I actually bought a black one for my home bedding as well. They are very luxurious. The sheets are also from Target. GIANT Cowhide Pillows + the Sari Blanket were both from my shop, Cactus Creek Soft blue body pillow is from Costco. Vintage landscape was a found piece, while the blinds are Ikea.
Scroll down for a few before photos - we never take enough! But learning as we go. You can see the old lights. And the thin particle board that looks like barn wood {via Menards} was a perfect solution for that slanted headboard. What do you think so far??

Loook at these giant urns!!! I’ve never seen any this tall. Found them when we were shopping last week for camper bedroom linens. That should be done by the end of the week. Yay!!
In the meantime I need to figure what to do with these bad boys. Thinking they would look good outdoors on either side of shop door? But I would need something heavy to go inside or they’ll blow away. Ideas? I've posted the layers I'm imagining below...
Check out these ENORMOUS cowhide pillows I found for the camper. They might actually be TOO big #sayitaintso
. They needed 40” inserts which were too expensive. A friend suggested I use two king sized pillows and it’s PERFECT {link below}. I have two brown & white speckled I’ll use in that camper bedroom. . I have one more that is solid gray that will be at Cactus Creek if anyone wants to buy it - I don’t think I’ll need it. Tomorrow I’m shopping for bedding...
Wyatt used the snow day to install these new lights in the camper bedroom. I still think the chandelier should be larger but this definitely works for now. Links to these lights are below....
I asked a friend once what her perfect day looked like. She told me that she had no idea. It struck me as so sad that this beautiful self-sufficient woman had spent her entire life trying to meet the expectations of others. To the point that she had no idea what her perfect day would like.
What would your perfect day look like? What time would you like to get up - then what? Do you want to read or exercise? Cook or go out? Obviously each day can't be perfect - there are a thousand unpleasant things we must do just to survive. But if we LIVE LIKE WE MEAN IT then we will find a way to make each day perfect. Usually several times a day I will ask myself - what do I need to do to make this day perfect given all of the things I need to accomplish, given the weather, the inconveniences handed to me, the surprises that life seems to throw at us. So I have come up with a recipe for LIVING LIKE YOU MEAN IT + making each day perfect. 1. Visualize your highest self. 2. Show up as that person. 3. Anticipate + embrace variables. 4. Be grateful for the variables. 5. Begin again tomorrow. It's the variables - and how you adapt to them - that make things perfect. |
